Skincare is, to me, an often-overlooked subject. The media and world at large are ultimately more interested and more invested in the world of makeup and beauty. But if you aren’t doing your absolute best in terms of skincare, your makeup, if you choose to wear it, will never look its absolute best. Me, I’m a skincare addict and probably always have been. Since I was a teenager I’ve spent hours of my life in stores like Superdrug, The Body Shop and Boots trawling the aisles looking for products. My bathroom shelves were always groaning under the pressure of an array of mismatched and often incorrect skincare products. The birth of my children and the end to my disposable income meant this addiction had to take a backseat, and products were more likely to be picked up from the supermarket in my weekly shop than any high street store.
Today I’m an Independent Consultant for the Body Shop At Home, so my bathroom is now covered in products from there. I’ve learnt so much about what is the right kind of skincare for both myself, and my customers. And my addiction has resurfaced. I love the Body Shop, from both a products standpoint and its ethical background. But I do use other brands as well – shock horror. Yes, most of the products in my bathroom – and also spilling out into my bedroom – are from the Body Shop, the re-emergence of my addiction has had me back in those other stores and looking online checking out what else is out there.
I am not an expert – believe me. But I know what I like, I know what works for me, and I hope to be able to help others figure out what works for them. Why don’t you join me?
